The March 24th local screenings of AQUA's Preview Edition at the Picture Show Man Cinema were a huge success. Twelve schools from across the Bega Valley attended the 3 school screenings during the day, with kids both educated and entertained by talks and Q & A sessions with David Hannan (AQUA's chief cinematographer), Steve White (Eden's Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre) and James Forbes (WWF-Australia). The 7pm evening screening to the general public was sold out, and featured a riveting talk about community and climate change by Rachel Choy (Pyramid Power) and post-Copenhagen politics by Dr Mike Kelly (Federal Member for Eden-Monaro). The night ended on a high note as film makers Bettina and Toni shared a 7 minute documentary about their experience at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen last December, where AQUA screened as part of the Official Cultural Program. A huge thanks to our local community for its ongoing support of AQUA, our shared committment to tackling climate change, and striving to secure a brighter future for not just the Great Barrier Reef but our entire ocean system. The public screening for the AQUA "preview edition" on Wednesday March 24th is sold out. The Primary and Secondary school screenings during the day are also at maximum capacity. In total, over 500 people from our local community will enjoy the event.

The Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre has become the local "Marine Education Partner" for AQUA's March 24th local screenings. Steve White from the SCMDC is working with Bettina and Toni to prepare Teachers' Kits for the local Primary and Secondary schools who will attend the matinees, to maximize educational outreach and awareness about the state of the Great Barrier Reef and our own local marine ecosystem.

Fresh from its success in Copenhagen, the Preview Edition of AQUA will be screened at the Picture Show Man Cinema in Merimbula, NSW, on March 24th 2010. There will be screenings for local Primary and Secondary schools, as well as a nighttime screening for the general public. This is a chance for Bettina and Toni to share the project with their local community, whose support was vital in getting the film to COP15.

The special 23 minute Preview Edition of AQUA was screened to over 350 people at the Pump House nightclub in central Copenhagen, on Wednesday December 16th 2009. International dance sensation - Safri Duo - accompanied the film with a live performance which featured over 50 percussion instruments. The result was a dynamic multi-media experience, placing the story of the Great Barrier Reef right in the centre of public consciousness, right in the middle of the COP15 Climate Change conference schedule. A dream come true!

The AQUA Preview Edition is going to have its Australian Premiere at Parliament House, Canberra at 6pm Monday 23rd November. It will be presented by The Honourable Dr Mike Kelly AM MP and Senator Penny Wong on the eve of the Carbon Pollution Reductions Scheme Bill!

Toni is off to Singapore from 15-19 June 2009 to attend the launch of the multi-media music project, MELT, a collaboration with singer/song-writer Corinne Gibbons.

Toni does a workshop presentation for the South Coast Writers Group on writing for film and natural history.
